In rural communities of Mexico and Peru, Indigenous master midwives (parteras) from Kinal and Chirapaq are training apprentices in traditional Indigenous midwifery. This ensures the transmission of generational knowledge and the continuity and survival of midwifery in their communities. As a result, maternal health improves and maternal mortality rates fall.
YOUR GIFT of $50 provides one Indigenous midwife home visit to an expecting family before or after the birth of their baby.
